This is the report about the incident I was tweeting about this morning. I was listening to it unfold using Scanner Radio Pro on my Android phone. It’s one of my favorite apps.

I was interested to know if what I thought I heard on the scanner would correspond to what was reported in the news. When you are listing to the scanner sometimes it’s very difficult to figure out what’s going on, especially if you start listening part way through an incident as I did this morning. Sometimes I turn the scanner on when I hear the police helicopter, but this morning I did not do that. What got my attention was the 15 or so police cars that were chasing a car down the street were my mom lives. What I heard on the scanner pretty much checked out with the WJLA report. I tweeted there was a crash and bail-out, but it turns out that the crash part was accurate, but the guy did not bail-out, he was dragged out of the car by police, and it was not clear to me that there was only one person in the car being chased.
