I use the idle time on my computer to help with scientific research. Visit the links below for information on volunteer computing. I starting volunteering computer time in 1999 with Seti@Home. In 2005 I added Einstein@Home and in 2010 World Community Grid.
Grid Republic – Account manager
Bonic – Open source software
Einstein@Home - uses your computer’s idle time to search for weak astrophysical signals from spinning neutron stars (also called pulsars) using data from the LIGO gravitational-wave detectors, the Arecibo radio telescope, and the Fermi gamma-ray satellite.
SETI@home - Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence by analizing radio telescope data.
World community grid - By donating your unused computer cycles to World Community Grid you will help advance critical research on neglected tropical diseases,cancer, Aids and other projects.

In a Daytona 500 that featured the first postponement in its history, a ball of fire from a race car vs. jet dryer collision under caution and a surfeit of wild action in the closing laps, Matt Kenseth won his second Daytona 500 when the tandem of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Greg Biffle couldn’t catch the race winner in a green-white-checkered finish…

Well this was one of the craziest Daytona 500 races ever. I work Sunday and would have not seen the race without the rain delay. I was rooting for Danica to have better day, but that’s auto racing. Joe Gibbs Racing finished strong and although Denny Hamlin led a number of laps, he was unable to get it done in the end, but I felt he ran a good race. I’m expecting Joe Gibbs Racing to have a good year.
